The Customer
A three story medical office in Lehi, UT needed a new rooftop screen panel to protect and conceal rooftop equipment to create a unified and appealing building visual. This horizontal ribbed screen panel project was completed in 2025.
The Challenge
This customer came to Cascade Rooftop Screens searching for a rooftop screen solution that met their budget restrictions and was simple and efficient to install. The customer wanted an efficient loading profile rooftop screen system that took into account wind strength and how it transferred to the roof. They also needed a system that had a simple engineering and installation process so the project could meet their timeline expectations.
Our team partnered with the medical office’s third party engineer to review his initial screen design, which was originally structured as a steel column system that would be attached to the wood roof. After review, the engineer found that the amount of bolstering required of the wood structure roof was not compatible with the steel column screen design and could not be integrated into the building.
The Solution
Our team and the installer traveled on-site to the customer’s facility to fully understand their needs and screen design requirements. Once the initial steel column design was proven to be incompatible with the customer’s building due to load and bolstering distribution failures, our team found that our horizontal ribbed screen system was the best fit to solve the customer’s wind force concerns, design preferences, budget restrictions, and installation timeline requirements.
Our team provided a 12 foot tall, horizontal 7.2 ribbed panel, complete with a Kynar coating to protect the material from environmental elements, retain the screen’s color, and reduce rust and other metal failures to extend the lifespan of the screen. Our Simple Frame screen system is backed with a 25 year warranty against any structural failure to ensure quality.
The Result
Because of Cascade Rooftop Screen’s streamlined design and installation process, the customer was able to reduce their project costs and installation timeline compared to their engineer’s initial design proposal. By working with Cascade Rooftop Screen, the customer met their project goals and now has a visually appealing ribbed rooftop screen panel that is durable and strong.
